Once you're settled in your caravan, your tent or your mobile home, you're ready explore the region. A stone's throw from Mont ventoux and some of the most picturesque villages, this is one of the most versatile regions of Provence. For the active camper we recommend cycling, canoeing, hiking, zip-lining, rock climbing and horseback riding. Looking for culture? You will certainly enjoy yourself at one of the many historic villages, art galleries and exhibitions or the theatre, dance and music festivals. If you prefer a day at the camp site, no problem. On the campsite
Take a stroll on the Friday morning market in the streets of Carpentras (6 km away), the former capital of the Comtat Venaissin. With more than 400 stalls spread over the entire city centre, this is the largest regional market. In April, the strawberry festival takes place and all types of regionally grown strawberries can be tasted. Also the ancient synagogue and the Saint Siffrein Cathedral are worth a visit.
The Mont Ventoux cannot escape your attention. As far as Avignon, and sometimes even to the Mediterranean, it dominates the landscape with its white peak. Wether you mount this giant by car, bicycle or on foot, the impressive views are an absolute must. For walks or bike rides accompanied by a guide, you can obtain more information at reception. The villages at the foot of the Mont Ventoux, Bédoin (9 km), Malaucene (15 km) and Sault, (35 km) with the many shops and terraces are very colorful and vibrant too. All are well worth a visit.
Avignon is one of the most famous cities in the region. Only 30 km away and certainly worth a day trip. The city is famous for the Palais des Papes the ' Pont d'Avignon ' and the beautiful Palace Gardens. July is the time to visit the Avignon theatre festival. This festival attracts visitors from all corners of the world every year. The atmosphere, the buildings, the history, the culture, and of course the excellent restaurants and boutiques make a visit to this city unforgettable.
About 25 km south of the camp site on the border between the Vaucluse and the Luberon lies the village of L'Isle sur la Sorgue, traditionally known for the numerous galleries, antique shops and fishing. The Sorgue river flows through the city centre and with the many terraces and pleasant shopping streets. It is a lively, colorful picture The famous market, or 'brocante ' (flea market) on Sunday morning is one of the best known and most popular in the region.
From here, it is a mere 10 km to Fontaine de Vaucluse. Here's where the river 'Sorgue' finds its origin. This well is accessible on foot, after a 15-minute walk along the banks of the river.
It's also the start of a beautiful canoe trip downstream of the river. And for the adventurous, zip-lining can be found here. Fun for all ages!
Another 15 km to the East lies the village of Gordes, chosen as one of the most beautiful villages in the South of France. Impressively located, it is built against the hillside. Beautiful views are available from the village and the Senanque Abbey, surrounded by lavender fields. The 'village des bories', a village of stone shepherds huts, are also worth visiting.
15 minutes away from Gordes lies the colorful village of Roussillon, originally built around an ochre mine. The ochre from this mine was used for coloring houses. The mine is no longer in use, but open for a visit.
North of the camp site, at about 20 km away, lies Vaison la Romaine, on the banks of the river Ouvèze. Vaison la Romaine is a medieval city with beautiful Roman excavations. Each summer the European choral and dance festival takes place here.
For your entertainment, you do not need to leave the campsite. During the holiday periods our entertainment team offers entertainment for young and old.
For the children we organize activities once or twice a week in the holiday periods. Alternately have an Easter Egg Hunt (with Easter), dancing at the children's disco, scavenger hunt, kids club and one of the many other activities such as pétanque, children's bingo, hexathlon etc.
Also the adults do not get bored. Throughout the season we organize activities like wine tasting (on the site itself and on location), jeu des boules tournament, canoeing (also for children) and of course our theme nights in the restaurant.
